A wasps challenge

A recent installation completed by us. We replaced a school’s CCTV system. The existing system was a mixture of existing analogue and IP equipment across 3 buildings. We installed 45+ new cameras, along with a new 32 Channel NVR & 8 Channel DVR. The system has AI Features.

We reused the existing infrastructure (cabling) where possible The new system offers extra protection covering areas that were not previously covered. This is to help with safety of pupils and staff, and also protect the perimeter of the school grounds. We encountered a variety of challenges with the existing fibre and 5G Wireless connections between buildings, which we overcame.

However one of the more unique challenges was a wasps nest that we found embedded inside one of the external camera housings, so this required us to bring in specialist pest control before we could replace the camera!
